Geometry deals with the properties of shapes. For some people, it is a very easy subject to learn. It just makes sense. To others it is a pain that they feel like they will never master. If you are more of the second type that struggles with the math concepts, there are ways to improve your understanding.
Some students feel like taking notes in a math class is a waste of time. This cannot be farther from the truth. You would take notes in math class just like you would any other class. You should take notes on vocabulary and problem solving. Your notes will help you complete your homework. Be sure to read through your notes for that day at the end of the class to make sure they make sense. You may also want to read through the notes from the day before at the beginning of class so that the concepts that are meant to work together will solidify in your mind.
Make sure that you do your homework in a quiet spot. Do not try and work in an area with a high concentration of activity. It is best to find a quiet desk that is free of clutter to work on. You don’t want to work on a bed because you will get tired easier. Your bed associates you with sleep and if you do your homework on a bed you will be tired quicker.
You can always get someone to help you. It is a great way to make sure that you understand the concepts and will eventually give you the skills that you need to teach others. You can get a tutor through your school, ask a friend to help, or get one online.
Don’t wait until the last minute right before bed to do your homework. I know that you only have a limited amount of time between when you get home and when you have to go to bed. You don’t want to spend it on your homework so you try to enjoy some other activities. Get your homework done first and then do the other activities. You don’t know how long it will take you to complete them.
Make sure that you have all of the resources that you need right there so you don’t have to go looking for them in the middle of a problem. It will cause you to lose your train of thought and make the whole process take longer.
